Pensioners can earn up to AMD 10,000 monthly cashback

From January 1, 2026, pensioners and social benefit recipients in Armenia will receive up to 20% cashback on non-cash transactions, up from the current 12%, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

As a result, participants in the program could increase their pension or allowance by up to 10,000 AMD per month, an increase from the current 6,000 AMD cap.

As of November, 366,432 citizens are enrolled in the program. Since its launch, over 327 billion AMD in non-cash transactions have been made using pension cards, with about 30 billion AMD returned to users as cashback.

Starting April 1, 2026, all state benefit payments, including pensions and childbirth-related allowances, will be transferred exclusively through non-cash means.

Currently, less than 10% of recipients (about 58,000 individuals) receive their pensions or benefits in cash. These individuals will also be eligible for cashback starting April 1, once they begin receiving payments through non-cash methods.
