In a meeting held in Ankara, Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Sahak Mashalian, urged Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya to ensure that national minorities are included in the process of drafting Turkey’s new constitution, according to a statement from the Patriarchate.
Mashalian emphasized the importance of involving ethnic and religious minorities in shaping the country’s new legal framework and considering their perspectives during the drafting process.
In response, Minister Yerlikaya said that work on these issues "must be conducted with sensitivity."
