Vagif Khachatryan, a 70-year-old Armenian citizen imprisoned by Azerbaijan for 15 years, was hospitalized after his health deteriorated sharply on December 22 during a court hearing in Baku related to what has been described as a fabricated case. Initial medical assistance was provided by doctors from the Medical Department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice. He was then urgently transferred to a medical facility under the same ministry, where he received intensive therapy and resuscitation measures.
However, due to a lack of significant improvement in his condition, Khachatryan was moved to a state-run medical institution to receive higher-quality treatment, the report states.
His condition is reported as critical, and intensive medical care is ongoing.
