Aram I extends blessings to church in Christmas message

On the occasion of the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany, Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia delivered a Patriarchal message in which he extended his support and greetings to Catholicos of All Armenians Кarekin II, according to Aysor.am.

“From the Mother See of Antelias, with brotherly and warm love, we greet our spiritual brother, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II; with fraternal affection, we also greet the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, Archbishop Nourhan, and the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Sahak, wishing them long patriarchates filled with church-building service,” Aram I said.

“With fatherly and warm love, we greet the diocesan primates of our Holy See, their respective national leaderships, our clergy, as well as our educational, cultural, charitable, and national institutions, wishing them many years of service,” he added.

Earlier in January, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and ten bishops and archbishops demanding the resignation of the Catholicos issued a joint statement calling for reforms in the Armenian Apostolic Church. Pashinyan read the statement during a Facebook broadcast, after which the bishops signed it.

Pashinyan announced the formation of a coordinating council tasked with organizing church reforms. The council can only expand through unanimous consent.
