Azerbaijani fuel en route to Armenia, ministry confirms

Armenia’s Ministry of Economy has confirmed that a new batch of fuel from Azerbaijan is being delivered to the country, Factor.am reports. However, no further details were provided.

Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that a new shipment of oil products would be sent to Armenia on January 8 from the Güzdek railway station and the Baku freight terminal.

According to APA, the shipment includes 1,000 tonnes of AI-92 gasoline, 1,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, and 1,800 tonnes of AI-95 gasoline.

The first shipment arrived in Armenia in December 2025 — a 22-wagon train loaded with gasoline. The AI-95 gasoline produced by SOCAR is being imported by two Armenian companies: Mega Trade, owned by the family of Khachatur Sukiasyan, and Shisha World, affiliated with the family of Samvel Aleksanyan.

This supply deal has been regarded as the first direct commercial agreement between the two countries in decades.
