Yerevan, Baku talk trade: tobacco, brandy base, livestock

Armenia and Azerbaijan are negotiating the potential export of several Armenian products to Azerbaijan, including aluminum foil, raw materials for foil, ferromolybdenum, livestock, brandy base, tobacco, and textiles, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said, according to Factor.am .

He noted that Azerbaijani companies have expressed interest in specific goods. “The Azerbaijani side sent us a list of products they’re interested in, and we responded with the quantities we could export. Our list also includes roses and greenhouse produce such as tomatoes and peppers. We’ve proposed approximate prices,” Papoyan said.

However, he added that it is still too early to speak about concrete export dates. Shipments will begin only after Armenian and Azerbaijani companies reach mutual agreements.

A second batch of Azerbaijani petroleum products is currently en route to Armenia. The shipment includes 7,600 tons of fuel — 6,100 tons of gasoline and 1,500 tons of diesel. Earlier, 1,200 tons of high-grade gasoline had also been imported.

The importing companies are linked to ruling Civil Contract MP Khachatur Sukiasyan and former Republican Party MP Samvel Aleksanyan.
