Father Mashtots Stepanian has announced that he is joining the initiative for the reform of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, launched by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and ten clergymen. He shared his statement on his Facebook page.
“I, Father Mashtots Stepanian, welcome the declaration on the renewal of the Armenian Apostolic Church adopted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and ten bishops. I support and join the Reform Declaration,” he wrote.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the formation of a new Coordinating Council tasked with organizing the church reform process. He called on both clergy and the faithful to unite around the reform agenda.
The first meeting of the Coordinating Council has already taken place, discussing key directions for church transformation, organizational mechanisms, and upcoming actions based on the declaration’s provisions.
The initiative has also gained support from Archpriest Ter Gоussan Aljanian, Locum Tenens of the Armenian Diocese of Switzerland.
