On January 13, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan departed for the United States on a working visit. According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan, Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio are scheduled to make a joint statement regarding the Trump Route initiative, also known as TRIPP.
"The visit includes a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. A joint statement is expected concerning the implementation framework of TRIPP," the statement read.
Earlier reports confirmed that Rubio would host Mirzoyan at the State Department on January 13.
The bilateral meeting between Mirzoyan and Rubio is set for 12:00 p.m. Washington time (9:00 p.m. Yerevan time). U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Allison Hooker and senior Bureau official Brendan Hanrahan are also expected to attend.
