Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the implementation framework of Trump’s Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative has resulted in a formula that fully satisfies Armenia, the United States, and, most likely, Azerbaijan as well. He made these comments during the “Armenia and Peace: At the Crossroads of Risks and Opportunities” forum held in Yerevan, which was attended by ambassadors from the U.S. and the European Union.
"This gives a green light to establishing long-term and lasting peace in the region. Clearly, there will be major investments and large financial flows into our region. This is excellent news," Pashinyan said, as reported by Sputnik Armenia.
Although Azerbaijan has not officially responded to the document, Pashinyan believes the proposed solutions align well with Azerbaijan's interests. He expressed confidence that the implementation of TRIPP will transform the regional landscape, making it more secure, especially amid global instability.
The prime minister also said the next phase should focus on Armenia–Turkey relations.
"This is an incredibly positive environment, almost unbelievable, that we’ve entered. It doesn't mean all issues are resolved, but all the solutions are defined," he remarked.
Pashinyan further emphasized Armenia’s interest in involving the European Union in the TRIPP program and said Yerevan is eager to discuss concrete formats and projects with EU partners.
"We need to engage in detailed discussions with our EU partners on the format and specific projects of EU involvement. We are keen on that," he noted.
Despite ongoing global turmoil, he added, Armenia and the region are gradually becoming a more stable and secure environment.
At a press conference following his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that the issue of Russia’s potential involvement in TRIPP was not discussed. He clarified that Armenia has no intention of excluding Russia from the broader regional developments.
"The issue was not discussed. The TRIPP framework is generally quite straightforward. We have no intention of excluding Russia. Russia has a presence in various infrastructures in Armenia. While not within TRIPP itself, related activities or cooperation involving the Russian Federation may emerge," Mirzoyan said, according to Aysor.am.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed a bilateral cooperation framework under the TRIPP initiative in Washington. The published document outlines the operational structure of the initiative It is not intended to create legal commitments for either Armenia or the United States.
