TRIPP initiative, mining and energy discussed in Yerevan

Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan and Karl Kress, Regional Director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), who is currently in Armenia, have discussed the implementation of memorandums of understanding signed between Armenia and the U.S. during the Washington Peace Summit on August 8, 2025.

The talks focused on the TRIPP initiative and the development of cooperation in the energy and mining sectors.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the effective implementation of the actions agreed upon, particularly the publication of the implementation framework for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative, which followed the January 13, 2026, meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to ensuring continued cooperation in areas of shared interest.

In Washington, Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the joint Armenia–U.S. document under the TRIPP initiative. The published framework outlines procedures for launching the initiative and does not impose any legal obligations on either Armenia or the United States.
