Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan says a U.S.-endorsed document confirms Armenia’s course toward regional unblocking and peaceful development, as the ministry sets its strategic goals for 2026.
At a working consultation held at the Economy Ministry, Papoyan reviewed 2025 achievements and outlined upcoming strategic priorities, emphasizing that the ministry's tasks have shifted significantly due to the country’s evolving peace agenda.
He referred to the recent U.S.-Armenia TRIPP framework, stating that it reaffirms Armenia's commitment to regional connectivity and sustainable peace. In this context, the ministry's focus will center on economic growth, productivity, and competitiveness, all aligned with the peace-oriented trajectory.
Tourism was identified as a key sector for stable long-term development under these conditions. Papoyan issued instructions to ensure the efficient implementation and coordinated execution of upcoming programs.
The meeting was also attended by Tourism Committee Chair Lusine Gevorgyan.
The TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) framework, affirmed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, outlines cooperation principles but does not impose legal obligations on either side.
