Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has traveled to the Swiss Confederation on a working visit.
On January 22, within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, he will take part in the official signing ceremony of the “Peace Council” charter as a founding member, upon the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Armenian government approved the proposal to sign the charter through a written procedure, assigning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize the signing.
No justification for the project was provided.
Earlier, it had been announced that Pashinyan would not participate in the Davos summit, where Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan was in attendance.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the establishment of a Peace Council focused on the Gaza issue and invited leaders from about 60 countries to participate, including Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Azerbaijan is also among those who accepted the invitation.
