Armenia to get $150 million ADB loan for budget

The Armenian government has approved a $150 million loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to help finance the country’s budget deficit, Sputnik Armenia reports.

The decision was made at today’s cabinet meeting and includes the signing of the loan agreement titled “Fiscal Stability and Financial Market Development Program – Subprogram 3” between Armenia and the ADB.

The loan is part of Armenia’s 2025 Annual Borrowing Plan, developed within the framework of the 2025–2027 Public Debt Management Strategy. This plan estimates a total of $675 million in budget support loans to be secured from various international financial institutions, including the ADB.

Under the agreement, the ADB loan will have a 15-year maturity period, including a 3-year grace period.
