Мajor gas station chain to sell Azerbaijani fuel

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced on Facebook that gasoline and diesel prices continue to decline across the country.

He also revealed that one of the country’s major gas station networks has now purchased Azerbaijani petroleum products and will begin retail sales in the coming days.

“Gasoline price: early December – 510 AMD/liter, now – 430 AMD/liter. Difference: 80 AMD/liter or -15.7%.

Diesel price: early December – 480 AMD/liter, now – 410 AMD/liter. Difference: 70 AMD/liter or -14.6%.

A major gas station chain that has also acquired Azerbaijani fuel will start selling it in the coming days at reduced prices,” he noted.

On December 19, a train carrying 22 wagons of gasoline from Azerbaijan’s SOCAR entered Armenia, followed by two more deliveries. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan commented on the imports, stating, “Purchasing gasoline seems very beneficial for Armenian citizens. I saw boycott calls, but also saw lines forming for that fuel.”

When asked why Azerbaijan supplies Armenia with cheap fuel, he replied: “Because peace has been established, cooperation must be built, and Azerbaijani and Turkish cargo should pass through our territory, just as we should transit theirs.”
