Gaza children may receive medical care in Armenia

Armenia is working with the World Health Organization (WHO) to organize treatment for dozens of children from Gaza in its medical centers. This was announced by Jirair Ananyan, Armenia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, during the UN Security Council’s open debate on “The Situation in the Middle East.”

Highlighting Armenia’s geographic proximity to the Middle East, its traditionally friendly relations with regional countries, and the presence of significant Armenian communities in the region, Ananyan noted Armenia’s participation in the UN peacekeeping mission (UNIFIL) in Lebanon.

He also emphasized Armenia’s support for UN Security Council Resolution 2803, adopted on November 17, 2025, concerning the situation in Gaza. Armenia, as a founding member of the Peace Council, reaffirmed its commitment to post-conflict stabilization, reconstruction, and peacebuilding through its endorsement of the resolution and expressed readiness for active engagement in the Council’s initiatives.

Ananyan further stressed that Armenia consistently supports the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of friendly Syria, adding that the Syrian-led post-conflict reconstruction and peace process is key to lasting stability in the country.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed the charter establishing the Peace Council. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the signing ceremony.
