Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the “I Have Honor” faction, stated that international actors, while often praising the "positive dynamic" in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, are deliberately ignoring key issues. These include the presence of Azerbaijani forces on sovereign Armenian territory and the violation of the rights of Armenians from Artsakh.
Writing on his Facebook page, Abrahamyan said: “International players who regularly welcome the so-called positive developments in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations turn a blind eye to the presence of Azerbaijani troops on Armenia’s sovereign territory. They ignore Azerbaijan's arms race and its power-based rhetoric.”
He continued, “These same actors, who speak of democracy and human rights, overlook the genocide and rights violations committed against the people of Artsakh. They fail to address the unlawful treatment of Armenians held in Azerbaijani prisons.”
Abrahamyan added that “interested” international organizations and diplomatic missions also choose to ignore the issue of political prisoners in Armenia, prioritizing their own geopolitical interests.
There is no discussion, he noted, even of compensation for Artsakh Armenians’ lost property.
