At the WTA 250 tournament held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Armenian tennis player Elina Avanesyan advanced to the round of 16 after defeating world No. 88 Moyuka Uchijima of Japan.
The match lasted 1 hour and 55 minutes, with Avanesyan winning in three sets: 6–3, 2–6, 6–3, according to the Armenian Tennis Federation.
In the next round, Avanesyan will face the winner of the match between Alycia Parks (USA, world No. 99) and Julia Grabher (Austria, world No. 95).
