India’s armed forces are prepared to further develop defense cooperation with Armenia, both in existing domains and through new areas of mutual interest, said General Anil Chauhan, India’s Chief of Defence Staff, during a meeting in Yerevan with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan.
Papikyan praised the current level of defense collaboration between the two countries, stressing the importance of consistently implementing joint programs.
The meeting also addressed regional and international security issues.
India’s Ambassador to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, also attended the talks.
Earlier, it was reported that India began delivering the first batch of Pinaka guided rockets to Armenia. In November 2024, India’s Indian Defence Research Wing reported that these deliveries coincided with the shipment of Indian AKASH surface-to-air missile systems.
