Arman Avanesyan of Armenia has been ranked among the top six athletes in the 2025 World Games Athlete of the Year vote, organized by the International World Games Association (IWGA). Competing in sambo, Avanesyan secured sixth place with 15,439 votes, highlighting strong support from the international sambo community throughout the competition, according to the Sambo Federation of Armenia.
The IWGA officially announced the final results of the vote for 2025:
- Gold – Victoria Chavez (Mexico), Flag Football
- Silver – Marius Andrei Balan & Kristina Moshenska (Germany), DanceSport
- Bronze – Laura Burgos (Mexico), Muay Thai
“The International Sambo Federation and the Sambo Federation of Armenia express their sincere gratitude to every member of the global Sambo family who supported our athlete and voted for him. Your dedication demonstrated the strength and unity of the international Sambo community on the global stage,” the statement read.
