Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Arayik Harutyunyan met with a delegation led by Olof Skoog, Managing Director for Political Affairs and Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service. The meeting focused on the current state of Armenia–EU relations and the recently launched agenda for political and security dialogue.
Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing cooperation based on shared values and strategic interests. Harutyunyan also discussed efforts to strengthen institutional resilience and emphasized the importance of continued EU support.
The parties exchanged views on preparations for two major upcoming events: the 8th summit of the European Political Community and the first Armenia–EU summit, both scheduled to take place in Yerevan on May 3–4, 2026.
These high-level events were noted as symbols of growing mutual trust and strategic partnership between Armenia and the European Union.
The meeting also addressed institutional capacity-building programs supporting democratic governance and administrative reform. Harutyunyan underscored that sustained EU engagement is critical for Armenia, particularly in the areas of security, economy, and governance.
On December 2, 2025, during the sixth Armenia–EU Partnership Council meeting in Brussels, the two sides signed a Strategic Partnership Agenda. The agreement was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
