Aram I appeals to Vance to act on Аrmenian captives

Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, has sent a letter to U.S. Vice President JD Vance, calling on him to address the urgent need for the release of Armenian political and military leaders of Artsakh, as well as other detainees held in Baku.

According to the Facebook page of Cilicia TV, Aram I also emphasized the pressing issue of preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of Nagorno-Karabakh and called for Vance’s personal involvement.

"The letter reminds that under international law, parties are obligated to ensure the release of prisoners of war and protect spiritual and cultural monuments following conflicts," the statement reads.

It is noted that the letter has already reached Vance’s office.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance is expected to visit Armenia and Azerbaijan in February.
