Lawyer Arsen Babayan announced that the appeal to release Khachik Galstyan from custody has been rejected.
“My friend, political prisoner Khachik Galstyan, will remain in detention. The Anti-Corruption Court of Appeals upheld the decision of the lower court to keep him in custody,” Babayan wrote.
Galstyan was arrested in late December 2025. According to the Anti-Corruption Committee, he was detained in connection with a vote-buying case during the November 16 local council elections in Vagharshapat. A total of eight people were arrested in the case, including the former deputy governor of Armavir.
