Armenia, Azerbaijan free to build ties: Kremlin

Commenting on U.S. Senator J.D. Vance’s visit, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan, as sovereign states, are entitled to develop independent relations with various countries, RBC reports.

When asked whether the Kremlin is concerned about deepening cooperation between South Caucasus countries and the United States, Peskov responded:

“They are sovereign states and have the sovereign right to build relations with different countries. We have an extensive bilateral agenda with both Baku and Yerevan. […] Naturally, we intend to continue developing our relations with our partners,” Peskov said.

Vance visited Yerevan and Baku from February 9 to 11.
