MP criticizes exposure of defense sites

National Assembly member Tigran Abrahamyan commented on the detailed presentation of Defense Ministry fortification areas, that “for the sake of an election campaign, the characteristics and structure of defensive facilities are being presented to the adversary.”

“Two years ago, several opposition MPs and I visited the first examples of these facilities. After returning, we prepared a joint letter outlining the observations and shortcomings we had identified.

One of them concerned the need to implement counter-sabotage measures, which implied certain visible actions on the external part of the structure.

We were told they were not being carried out so that the adversary would not detect that there was a military facility at that location.

Even at that time, this explanation was quite unserious, considering that large-scale work had been carried out just a few kilometers from the adversary for two years and had naturally been detected by them.

And now, against the backdrop of these propaganda videos, the process has generally turned into a farce.

For the sake of an election campaign, the characteristics and structure of defensive facilities are being presented to the adversary, rendering the concept meaningless and eliminating the factor of unpredictability for the adversary,” the post states.
