Inter plans one-year deal for Mkhitaryan

Italian club Inter Milan intend to extend the current contract of former Armenia national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan by offering the 37-year-old midfielder a new one-year deal.

According to Sempreinter.com , citing FCInterNews, if a mutual agreement is reached, the Armenian footballer could conclude his professional career at San Siro.

The source notes that Mkhitaryan’s departure at the end of the current season had appeared almost certain, but his consistent and effective performances have shifted the club’s position. His existing contract with Inter expires this summer, Factor.am reports.

Inter head coach Cristian Chivu has highly praised the Armenian midfielder’s role within the team and his importance in the tactical structure.

At the same time, several clubs from Saudi Arabia are also reportedly interested in securing Mkhitaryan’s services.

Mkhitaryan, Armenia’s all-time leading scorer, has played for Inter since 2022. This season, he has made 23 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Over the course of his career, he has represented FC Pyunik (2006–2009), FC Metalurh Donetsk (2009–2010), FC Shakhtar Donetsk (2010–2013), Borussia Dortmund (2013–2016), Manchester United (2016–2018), Arsenal FC (2018–2019), and AS Roma (2019–2022).
