Around 30,000 people forcibly displaced from Artsakh have acquired Armenian citizenship, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan said during an annual press conference.
“20,769 individuals have received Armenian citizenship. In addition, 9,715 minors have acquired citizenship through passport issuance. In total, about 30,000 people have obtained Armenian citizenship. The majority of this number applied in the second half of 2025, when we simplified the procedure. If previously we received 40 to 50 applications, today the platform processes around 200 applications per day,” Sargsyan said, according to Sputnik Armenia.
She noted that no cases of refusal have been recorded so far.
According to the minister, since the beginning of the year alone, 1,000 applications have already been submitted by forcibly displaced persons.
Data from the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs show that after September 2023, 115,365 people were forcibly displaced from Artsakh.
