Armenia’s foreign minister said the country’s balanced foreign policy is grounded in sovereignty and territorial integrity, speaking at a youth discussion in Yerevan.
Armenia’s balanced and balancing foreign policy is based on the principles of the Republic of Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a youth discussion organized by the “Restart” Foundation, attended by around 200 young people from Yerevan and the regions.
He responded to nearly two dozen questions raised by participants. In an active and open discussion format, key directions of foreign policy were addressed. The prospects for consolidating peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, steps toward normalizing relations with neighboring states, opportunities to deepen existing cooperation, and the development of strategic partnerships in various areas were discussed.
Among other topics, attention was paid to regional unblocking initiatives, including new opportunities emerging for Armenia through the implementation of the TRIPP project.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan outlined the main priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, touching upon regional processes, the consistent strengthening of peace with Azerbaijan, and approaches adopted to advance partnership ties.
In response to questions from the youth, Mirzoyan also spoke about the nature of hybrid threats, their manifestations, and the toolkit for effectively countering them.
As the meeting was organized on the eve of Book Day, at the end of the event Minister Mirzoyan presented books to the young participants who had been most active in the discussion.
