Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian underscored the importance of further developing high-level relations between Armenia and Iran, as well as strengthening peace and stability in the region, during a meeting in Tehran.
Papikyan conveyed the warm greetings of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Iranian president.
The sides discussed issues related to Armenia-Iran cooperation, including interaction in the defense sector. Papikyan stressed the need to resolve the situation surrounding Iran through diplomatic means.
The sides also exchanged views on matters related to international and regional security.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran would deliver a legitimate response in the event of an attack by the United States.
