Against the backdrop of rising regional tensions and escalation involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, no influx from Iran has been observed in Syunik, the regional governor’s office told Auroranews.am.
“At this moment, there is no flow toward Syunik, no movement whatsoever. The situation at the border is normal, as it has always been. There is nothing out of the ordinary,” the Syunik regional administration said.
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has launched a large-scale operation against Iran, stating that Washington will not allow Tehran to obtain nuclear weapons and that this remains a firm U.S. policy.
Israel, for its part, said it carried out a preemptive strike on Iran “to neutralize the threat,” according to Defense Minister Israel Katz, who also declared a state of emergency across the country. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has launched retaliatory strikes against U.S. military facilities in the Middle East.
