Pashinyan sends condolences to Iranian president

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a message of condolence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, regarding the reported casualties among Iran’s leadership and citizens.

“Your Excellency, we are following developments around Iran with deep concern. Please accept my condolences over the losses recorded among the leadership and citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We will always remember the personal role of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei in the development of Armenia-Iran relations.

In this difficult moment, we cherish the hope for the swift restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East.

Taking this opportunity, I wish you patience and the friendly and neighboring people of Iran peace and resilience,” the message reads.

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has launched a large-scale operation against Iran, stating that Washington will not allow Tehran to possess nuclear weapons and that this remains unchanged U.S. policy.

Israel, for its part, carried out a preemptive strike on Iran “to neutralize the threat,” according to Defense Minister Israel Katz, who also declared a state of emergency across the country. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has launched retaliatory strikes against U.S. military facilities in the Middle East.
