Two Yerevan apartments targeted in asset claim

The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted for proceedings another claim submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office seeking confiscation of property of alleged illicit origin, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

The department for confiscation of illicit assets has asked the court to seize in favor of the Republic of Armenia from former National Assembly deputy Ernest Solomonyan and his wife:

– Two real estate properties located on Northern Avenue in Yerevan, with a cadastral value approximating market value totaling 236 million drams.

– 8 million 50 thousand drams as the remainder of alleged illicit income.

Ernest Solomonyan served as a member of parliament in the 1st and 4th convocations of the National Assembly. He is the father of Viktor Solomonyan, former head of the office of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan.
