Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation on March 5 with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
During the conversation, the situation in the Middle East was discussed.
Minister Mirzoyan inquired about the situation resulting from recent developments and expressed concern over the targeting of civilian facilities.
The sides exchanged views on possible ways to resolve the situation.
On the same day, the foreign ministers of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates discussed the situation in the Middle East and several regional security issues during a phone call.
Ararat Mirzoyan and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed concern over the developments in the Middle East.
The Armenian foreign minister expressed condolences to the families of those killed as a result of recent developments and voiced hope for a resolution of the situation.
Mirzoyan also thanked the UAE for its assistance in addressing issues related to Armenian citizens who were forced to remain in the country. In response, the UAE foreign minister emphasized ongoing efforts in that direction and readiness for continued cooperation. The sides also exchanged views on regional security matters.
In a separate phone conversation, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Latvia discussed issues of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of intensifying cooperation.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Baiba Braže also touched upon the situation in the Middle East.
The sides discussed a number of topics of mutual interest.
They stressed the importance of continuing active cooperation to deepen the partnership between Armenia and the European Union, as well as readiness for active participation ahead of the European Political Community summit scheduled to take place in Yerevan.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Baiba Braže also highlighted the importance of promoting new initiatives to further enrich the bilateral agenda.
Earlier, on February 28, Israel and the U.S. carried out airstrikes against Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the strikes. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory attacks toward Israel and Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
