Missile strike hits Armenian district in Tehran

A residential building in Tehran’s historic Armenian Majidiyeh district was struck by a missile amid U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran, the Iranian Embassy in Armenia reported.

Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded among residents, though several people were trapped under the rubble.

Majidiyeh is considered one of Tehran’s old Armenian neighborhoods. It has long been known for its lively atmosphere and developed infrastructure, whose formation and growth were significantly shaped by the Iranian-Armenian community.

On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes against Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory attacks against Israel and several Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
