The Armenian National Congress (ANC) will participate in the elections exclusively with its own list, the party’s prime ministerial candidate and vice chairman Levon Zurabyan said.
He clarified that some media outlets had misrepresented the party’s position regarding the format of its participation in the elections.
“Since some representatives of the media are distorting our position on the format of participation in the elections — whether due to lack of professionalism or intentionally creating a false impression, it does not matter — I would like to clarify the following.
The Armenian National Congress and its representatives will participate in the elections exclusively with their own list, whether independently or within the format of a coalition of parties,” he wrote.
The All-Armenian Front party, led by former defense minister Arshak Karapetyan, who is currently wanted by authorities, also plans to participate in the upcoming elections, according to Pastinfo.
Party chairman Arsen Vardanyan said the party is currently holding meetings with representatives of various political forces and movements to determine the format in which they will participate in the elections and with which forces they may cooperate.
“We are definitely considering cooperation with forces that are not connected with the current or former authorities. We also do not see the possibility of cooperation with forces linked to the previous government. We see opportunities for cooperation with national forces that have no hidden ties and that are engaged in activities beneficial for Armenia,” he said.
Vardanyan also noted that Arshak Karapetyan will not take part in the election campaign, as he is currently outside Armenia. However, he will regularly address supporters with video messages during the campaign.
“He is our leader, but he will not be on the list,” Vardanyan said.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled to be held on June 7, 2026.
