Citizens of 46 countries evacuated via Armenia from Iran

Due to the worsening situation in the Middle East, citizens of 46 countries have been transferred from Iran through the territory of Armenia, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan said in a Facebook post.

Earlier, it had been announced that citizens of 41 countries were involved, but in recent days the number increased by five, adding Canada, Greece, Serbia, Finland, and Egypt.

According to Badalyan, Armenia also provided assistance with entry visas when necessary.

On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes against Iran, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran launched strikes against Israel and toward Persian Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
