No political force or individual who has joined the Proposal for Armenia initiative launched by Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan has set preconditions regarding positions or places on electoral lists, said Iveta Tonoyan, head of the Gagik Tsarukyan Charitable Foundation and a member of the initiative.
In a post on Facebook, Tonoyan said the initiative would not draw divisions or judge those wishing to join.
She noted that statements by public associations, political parties, and respected public figures announcing their support for the initiative continue to grow.
“This process will soon continue with even greater momentum. I am pleased to note that public support is truly significant, and we treat every such initiative with deep respect,” she wrote.
Tonoyan added that the Proposal for Armenia initiative is gradually becoming a truly national project.
According to her, only through unity and a supra-partisan approach can the country overcome the current difficult situation.
“The idea behind the Proposal for Armenia initiative is the broad consolidation of capable, caring and professional forces and individuals. It is open to all decent, responsible and professional people,” she said.
Tonoyan also noted that in some cases the initiative’s team learns about new supporters through the media, which she said shows the support is sincere and spontaneous.
“We will not draw dividing lines. We are not judges and do not aspire to be. Who is better, who deserves more — these are not questions we will decide,” she wrote.
She emphasized that no individual or political force joining the initiative so far has demanded a place on the electoral list or a government position, adding that the team appreciates this approach.
According to Tonoyan, Tsarukyan himself formulated the principle of cooperation: “The position is not important — the country is important. The mandate is not important — the result of the work is important.”
She added that all capable and responsible people will have their rightful place in the team and in the effort to rebuild Armenia.
Earlier, Tsarukyan announced that he plans to participate in the 2026 parliamentary elections through the Proposal for Armenia initiative.
“It will be a proposal to Armenia. To pull the country out of this situation, there is neither such a person nor such a party. There must be unity around an idea and a program,” Tsarukyan said.
