Graduates of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program serve as a bridge in relations between Armenia and India, Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan said at an event dedicated to the program.
The event was also attended by Nilakshi Saha Sinha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia.
Martirosyan welcomed the program’s alumni, noting that their knowledge and experience contribute to the development of various sectors in Armenia.
“The Republic of Armenia highly values the friendly and mutually beneficial relations established with the Republic of India. The ITEC program is an important area of cooperation that over the years has become an effective platform for developing professional skills.
It is noteworthy that even during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program continued its important mission by providing thousands of specialists with online courses through digital platforms.
I am confident that ITEC graduates contribute to the development of different sectors while serving as a reliable bridge between Armenia and India, strengthening the centuries-old friendship between our peoples,” he said.
Within the framework of the ITEC program, India provides thousands of training courses and scholarships for specialists from different countries around the world.
The initiative allows participants to develop professional skills and become acquainted with India’s culture, history and hospitality.
Armenian citizens have been participating in the ITEC program since 1999.
During this period, 433 Armenian specialists from fields including public administration, information technology, education and healthcare have received training through the program.
In 2025–2026, 39 Armenian professionals took part in the program, while 38 specialists participated in 2024–2025.
