Artsakh minister accuses Pashinyan of serving rivals

Recent developments would have seemed unimaginable years ago, said Artsakh State Minister Nzhdeh Iskandaryan, commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements about closing the Artsakh issue. According to him, in the pre-election period, the authorities will attempt to keep society under the influence of disinformation, Pastinfo reports.

“Unfortunately, today in our homeland, we are forced to speak about such realities. Recently, Pashinyan has been stating quite directly that those who speak about Artsakh are provoking war. That is not the case. During the pre-election period, they will of course try to frighten the public, claiming that if the opposition succeeds in removing Nikol Pashinyan, there will be no peace in Armenia. We see that Nikol Pashinyan is directly serving the interests of Turkey and Azerbaijan. I think this is visible to everyone,” he said.

Iskandaryan also stressed that the Armenian prime minister’s view that continuing the Karabakh issue could lead to war is a distortion of reality.

“I want to directly cite what Azerbaijan did. For 30 years, they tried and managed to keep the issue of rights on international platforms. When there was a change of power in Armenia and a person came who served the enemy’s interests, Azerbaijan started a war at the most convenient moment,” the state minister said.

Pashinyan has stated that continuing the Karabakh movement would mean a new war. He added that the «Civil Contract» party is the only political force clearly stating that the Karabakh movement will not continue and that voters should choose it.

“Ktrich Nersisyan has clearly assumed leadership of the war party, while Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan and others fit into this logic. The people must make this choice. If they decide to continue the Karabakh movement, they should vote for the forces under Ktrich Nersisyan’s pyramid. If not, they should vote for the Civil Contract party,” the prime minister said.
