Armenia, EU deepen sustainable cooperation

On March 23, the 9th meeting of the EU-Armenia Subcommittee on Energy, Transport, Environment, Climate Action and Civil Protection was held in Brussels, where the sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation.

The meeting reviewed developments in the fields of energy, transport, civil protection, climate and the environment, as well as the progress of Armenia-EU cooperation and EU support programs provided to Armenia, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure reported.

The Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan. On behalf of European Union, the meeting was chaired by Deren Deryan, Head of Division at European External Action Service. Armenian Ambassador to Belgium and Head of Armenia’s Mission to EU Tigran Balayan also addressed meeting.

The sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue and deepen Armenia-EU cooperation aimed at promoting sustainable development, strengthening institutional capacities and increasing regional resilience.

Following results of sixth meeting of Armenia-EU Partnership Council in Brussels on December 2, 2025, Armenia and European Union signed Strategic Partnership Agenda. Document was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
