Civil Contract faction MP Vladimir Vardanyan has been elected a member of the Constitutional Court.
“Out of 107 MPs, 67 took part in the vote,” said Narek Babayan, head of the counting commission, at the start of the National Assembly session, as reported by Panorama.am .
He stated that all 67 participating MPs voted in favor of the proposal by Vahagn Khachaturyan, under which Civil Contract MP Vladimir Vardanyan was to become a Constitutional Court member.

At the March 24 session, Vardanyan said that after holding a political position, he sees risks of political bias in serving as a Constitutional Court judge, but stressed the importance of remaining faithful to the judicial oath.
Vardanyan holds a PhD in Law. Since 2019, he has served as a member of the National Assembly and chairs the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
