Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, has been appointed by the President of the UN General Assembly to coordinate the intergovernmental negotiations on a political declaration on pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
Armenia has consistently supported international initiatives aimed at raising awareness and strengthening resilience through active cooperation in achieving public health goals.
It was emphasized that pandemics require timely and sustained leadership, global solidarity, and multilateral commitment, and that Armenia stands ready to continue its contribution to this important process by working closely with all relevant partners to ensure meaningful outcomes that will reinforce global commitment and help build a more prepared world capable of preventing and responding to future pandemics.
