The Armenian pair Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin has, for the first time, finished among the top ten at the World Figure Skating Championships, according to the Armenian Figure Skating Federation.
At the championships taking place in Prague, the duo placed 8th in the free program with a score of 123.34 points.
This result has opened the possibility for another Armenian pair to participate in the next world championships and also secured two spots for the senior Grand Prix series, which are allocated exclusively by the International Skating Union (ISU).
In men’s singles, Armenia’s sole representative Semyon Danilyants did not pass the short program stage.
