Wizz Air launches new routes from Yerevan

Wizz Air will launch two new routes from Yerevan — to Brussels (Belgium) and Eindhoven (Netherlands), Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan announced on Facebook.

The airline will also base an additional aircraft at Zvartnots International Airport.

“Earlier today, I had a working meeting with Wizz Air Chief Commercial Officer Ian Malin, during which our partners announced that they will base a third aircraft at Zvartnots Airport,” Khudatyan said.

The minister proposed launching routes to Kazakhstan and Georgia, and in the case of Georgia, considering flights from Gyumri’s Shirak Airport, according to the ministry’s statement.

The sides also discussed the proposal to establish a pilot training center, which would be important not only for Wizz Air and Armenia but also for pilots across the region.

The meeting concluded with mutual readiness to implement new initiatives in the aviation sector in the near future.
