The reduction of connection fees for new subscribers of Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) is a form of electoral bribery, said former acting head of the company David Ghazinyan.
According to him, actions funded by taxpayers are being presented by the authorities as their own achievements, Aysor.am reports.
“The increase in fees for new consumers in ENA was attributed to us, even though we had no tools to implement it. That was done by the Public Services Regulatory Commission. Now they have decided to lower those fees—this is a form of electoral bribery on their part, just like pensions and other measures,” Ghazinyan said.
Electric Networks of Armenia has launched a process to reduce connection fees for new consumers to the distribution network by 30–40%. According to preliminary estimates, in some categories the reduction could reach up to 45%.
