Hayastan bloc outlines education reform plan

On April 16, the Hayastan alliance presented the section on education, science, culture, and diaspora from its election program.

“After 15 years of work, teachers will be considered certified, and their salaries will increase,” alliance representative Anna Grigoryan stated, Aravot.am reports.

She added that teachers would receive the same salary as if they had successfully passed certification with high scores.

“As a teacher who has worked in the education system for 10 years, I must say that a teacher who enters the classroom every day, interacts with children, and imparts knowledge does not need to go through a certification system in order to receive a salary increase,” Grigoryan said, adding that judges’ salaries are increased through parliament.

“Recently, for example, a bill was introduced to increase the salary of a Constitutional Court judge, and the political majority voted in favor. That is, judges, prosecutors, investigators — all of their salaries are increased by law, while a teacher who enters the classroom every day must go through a humiliating certification system just to have their salary increased,” the MP noted.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
