Opposition MP links calm border to policy shift

At this moment, no incidents are being recorded on the border because the authorities have fully accepted the Azerbaijani agenda, according to Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the I Have Honor faction.

He stated that during the 2023 Azerbaijani attack on Artsakh, the authorities “assumed the role of an observer” and recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, while now speaking about internal processes or decisions related to resistance.

He also criticized recent remarks by the deputy speaker of parliament, who said that after the current peace efforts, people are no longer being killed on the border, whereas previously dozens died each year.

“During their eight years in office, 6–7 wars and acts of aggression have been recorded against Armenia and Artsakh as a result of their adventurous political course, the consequence of which has been the occupation of various parts of our homeland and the martyrdom of thousands,” Abrahamyan said.

He added that current authorities continue to refer to past losses while, in his view, the present situation stems from their own policies.

“At this moment, there are no incidents on the border because you have fully accepted the Azerbaijani agenda and are moving toward its implementation. Meanwhile, many people are now dying in the army under peacetime conditions, because under the guise of reforms you have led it toward demoralization and disintegration,” he wrote.

Earlier, Investigative Committee Chairman Artur Poghosyan stated that in 2025, no killings related to military service or by the enemy were recorded, compared to several such cases in 2024.
