Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the fastest component of the TRIPP investment project to be completed would be the commissioning of electricity transmission lines.
Presenting the Civil Contract party’s election program, he noted that the plan includes launching work under the TRIPP investment project, which at a minimum envisages the launch of railway and electricity infrastructure.
“By my assessment, the electricity transmission lines will be the quickest to be put into operation, and, by the way, this project will also create many jobs,” he said, expressing confidence that work on the ground would begin as early as 2026, according to 1lurer.am.
The prime minister expressed hope that this would ensure employment through Armenian citizens and that “companies would not have to attract labor from other countries.”
Speaking about the restoration of railway infrastructure, Pashinyan said that work in the directions from Gyumri to the Turkish border and from Yeraskh to the Nakhchivan border is planned to be carried out within a compressed timeframe of approximately one to one and a half years.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington confirmed a document on Armenia-U.S. joint work within the framework of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.
The published document on TRIPP implementation describes the procedures for launching the initiative. This framework does not create and is not intended to create legal commitments or obligations for Armenia or the United States.
