Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has approved the request to change the alliance’s account name to Strong Armenia.
The commission received and granted an application from the Strong Armenia with Samvel Karapetyan alliance to modify its account name. As a result, the official name is now Strong Armenia.
During its April 22 session, the Central Electoral Commission reviewed a clarification request submitted by Gohar Meloyan, the authorized representative responsible for obtaining the account for the alliance’s formation.
The request concerned recent amendments to the Electoral Code constitutional law, as well as issues related to the naming of the account assigned to the political group.
The commission also noted that as of April 7, 2026, it had not addressed questions related to the legal status of any party or alliance, including naming matters, and did not have the authority to do so at that stage.
Earlier, Meloyan told journalists that Samvel Karapetyan’s name had been removed from the alliance’s title following legislative changes adopted by the National Assembly.
