Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan said he hopes the scenario of the 2021 parliamentary elections will not be repeated.
Speaking after a court session at the Anti-Corruption Court, he addressed expectations for the upcoming elections and responded to a question about the likelihood of a repeat of the 2021 vote, Panorama.am reports.
“I very much hope it will not be repeated,” he said.
Sargsyan also reacted to a statement attributed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan suggesting that deprioritizing the issue of the Genocide could improve living conditions.
“It’s impossible to describe it with one term. It is stupidity, it is treason. There is nothing else to say,” he stated.
The next court hearing in Sargsyan’s case is scheduled for May 14.
