Pashinyan doubts action on Stepanakert Cathedral destruction

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he does not think the issue of the destruction of the Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Stepanakert will be raised at the international level by Armenia.

Speaking to journalists, he noted that the matter requires careful consideration.

“Taking into account our previous experience, I do not think we will make this an issue for international discussion at the state level. This is a situation we must fully and comprehensively understand,” he said, according to Aysor.am .

Pashinyan added that such topics require a cautious approach.

“Especially now, because such issues are a double-edged sword,” he said.

Earlier it became known that Azerbaijan had destroyed the Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Stepanakert. Prior to that, the St. Hakob Church in Stepanakert had also been destroyed.

The Artsakh Union issued a statement calling on the Armenian authorities to “reconsider inaction encouraging Baku.” The statement referred to the destruction of Armenian churches in Stepanakert, describing it as an act of cultural genocide.
